Diablo IV arrives in just one week for early access pre-orders, but before then you probably want to know the date of when you can preload the game.
Preloading is definitely something you’re going to want to do if you have any desire to play right when the game goes live. Which by the way happens on June 1 at 4pm PT for people on the west coast. As big of a game as Diablo IV is, both for players to explore and in popularity, preloading is going to be essential. If you wait to install when the game goes live, you’ll almost assuredly be battling against server congestion instead of hordes of demons.
This is just the way things are with online games these days. So when you can preload? Soon. Though not much sooner than the early access date. Blizzard confirms that Diablo IV preloads will begin on May 30. The time will be 4pm PT, so the same time it goes live for early access on June 1. For those who didn’t pre-order and don’t plan to, the game will go live on June 5 at 4pm PT. You can however still preload the game on May 30 along with all other players.
The Diablo IV preload date is the same for all platforms
Diablo IV will be releasing on multiple platforms, including PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. And all platforms can preload on the same day. This isn’t always the case with every game so it’s nice that there won’t be any confusion here.
In addition to the preload date, Blizzard also revealed a brand-new live action trailer this morning. The trailer was directed by filmmaker Chloé Zhao, know for her work on The Eternals, Nomadland, Songs My Brothers Taught Me and more. It’s a neat look into the hellish world of Diablo IV that players will get to soon experience once again. If you’ve not seen it yet, you can check it out below.
