Carl Radke is confirming the news of the end of his engagement to Lindsay Hubbard.

Nearly two weeks after multiple sources confirmed that the Summer House couple’s relationship was over, noting that it was Carl, 38, who decided he couldn’t “move forward” with his plans to wed Lindsay, 37, Carl has released an official letter to his family members and friends in regard to their unexpected breakup.

“Words cannot possibly express how difficult the last two weeks have been for Lindsay and I,” Carl began in the letter, which was shared by PEOPLE on September 11. “We are so incredibly sorry to all of our guests for the confusion and lack of communication. We were left trying to figure out how this all exactly happened before we could even have the opportunity to determine the path forward amongst ourselves.”

As Summer House fans have likely heard, insiders have suggested that Lindsay was completely “blindsided” and heartbroken by Carl, who allegedly chose to break up with her for the cameras of their Bravo series. And in his statement, Carl confirmed that Lindsay, who has yet to publicly address their split, is “devastated.”

“There have been a lot of false narratives and misunderstandings that have made this all the more painful but sadly at this time we are not moving forward with the wedding,” Carl continued. “The fact of the matter is Lindsay is devastated and I’m crushed with how all this transpired. I graciously ask for some patience and grace to heal and recover while we navigate this extremely difficult time.”

As for those expecting to attend the Mexico wedding in November, Carl said he realized that the “commitment of money and time” was “a lot” and noted that he didn’t take that “lightly.”

“We are super grateful for the love and support you have shown us and will do what I can to help with any costs associated with changing plans,” he shared.

He then suggested his guests, who an insider days ago claimed were forced to “eat the costs,” make alternative plans, encouraging them to still travel to Mexico for a vacation or cancel their reservations completely.

“I’m sorry again this has become such a mess. Thanks for your unconditional love and support during this tough time. Will be in touch with further updates. With love, Carl,” he added.

While the details surrounding what prompted Lindsay and Carl’s split remain unclear, he caused a stir on Instagram several days ago as he “liked” a post about “toxic” people who play the victim.

Summer House season eight is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or in early 2024.
