Microsoft has confirmed that the upcoming Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 was officially unveiled last week (May 24) with Microsoft showcasing the first trailer yesterday (May 28).

As part of the announcements, Microsoft has also confirmed the new Call Of Duty title will be available on Xbox Game Pass. “We’re excited to confirm that Game Pass members will be able to jump into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on day one with Game Pass,” reads a dedicated blog.

Earlier this year, Microsoft gaming chief Phil Spencer promised future Call Of Duty titles would be available on Game Pass while Xbox president Sarah Bond told fans they could expect “some more really big games going into Game Pass later this year.”

However, fans have had doubts about when they’d be able to get their hands on Call On Duty via Microsoft’s subscription-based platform due to how popular the series is. According to IGN, recent Call Of Duty titles typically shift around 25million copies at £70 a go, so making it available via Game Pass always seemed like a massive risk.

However, Microsoft is already using Call Of Duty to attract new players to the service. “And, if you’re new to Game Pass – we’ve got a (figurative) mountain of games for you to check out and play while waiting for that pre-install button to light up for Black Ops 6,” said Microsoft as part of the announcement.

More details about Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 are set to be revealed during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, which will take place Sunday June 9, 2024 at 6pm BST and will be livestreamed online.
