Bloodborne fans have been wanting both a PC port and a PS5 remaster – or at least a 60fps patch – for so long now that it’s become a running joke in the community. Bloodborne‘s director, Hidetaka Miyazaki recently said he shares fans’ wishes, as do others at FromSoftware, but “if I say I want one, I’ll get in trouble”.

Speaking to PC Gamer, the FromSoftware president said: “I know for a fact [other FromSoftware developers] want a Bloodborne PC port. If I say I want one, I’ll get in trouble as well. But it’s nothing I’m opposed to.”

The problem is, FromSoftware doesn’t actually own the Bloodborne IP, Sony does.

Miyazaki explained: “Obviously, as one of the creators of Bloodborne, my personal, pure honest opinion is I’d love more players to be able to enjoy it.

“Especially as a game that is now coming of age, one of those games of the past that gets lost on older hardware — I think any game like that, it’d be nice to have an opportunity for more players to be able to experience that and relive this relic of the past.”

He added: “So as far as I’m concerned, that’s definitely not something I’d be opposed to.”

Recently, we’ve seen hints of Bloodborne in the upcoming PS5 game, Astro Bot, where a little robot with the Bloodborne hunter attire can be seen. It’s clear Sony knows its fans want more of the gothic, Victorian England-inspired action RPG, but whether or not it will actually give us anything is another question.

In other news, the Metal Gear Solid soundtrack is set to get a release on vinyl, and it will feature music from nine different games in the popular stealth series.
