ast week’s fashion delivery was characterized by bold and distinctive representations. The stars explored flattering silhouettes; the kind that made statements unique to each person’s taste. Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion is architecture: it is a matter of proportions.” And last week, the proportions were right, the fabrics lush, and the cuts were commensurate to each frame. Gatherings like the Disney+ event in Los Angeles and Dolce and Gabanna’s 40th anniversary in Milan were the perfect outlets for expressing individualistic fashion. In all, the best-dressed stars hit the spot as they paraded the streets in complementary pieces.

The Looks

Zendaya was outside doing press for the Challengers movie, and a serial slay was in order. From a patterned green-and-white Louis Vuitton mini dress that showcased her toned legs to a pristine white number that flattered her frame, the actress checked all the right boxes as she showed out last week. And let’s not forget her blonde hair which was a highlight of both looks. In one instance, she pulled it behind and slid on a headband for a preppy vibe, in another, she let it down on her chiseled neckline for volume. The star and her stylist, Law Roach, have a reputation for “hitting to never miss.”

Wearable art will always make a statement. The fast fashion world has further heightened the value of slowing down to wear art unique to your preference. And Tracee Ellis Ross, who has always been an advocate for unique styling propositions, understands this. To host the New Museum spring gala, she wore an artsy Marni dress that flaunted an opening on both sides with an edgy flare. The dress maintained a structured frame with interesting prints and texture.

Elsewhere, Justine Skye attended the iHeartRadio awards in a hooded Dolce and Gabanna dress from their 1991 archive. The green dress was a refreshing break from her typical mesh form-fitting outfits. The layered fabrics pleated on her waistline for added volume. And with a never-declining face card, a fan described her as “upper echelon beauty.” No truer words have been said.
