The 2024 BAFTA Games Awards took place last night, with Baldur’s Gate 3 walking away with five trophies.
During a ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London Baldur’s Gate 3 won five BAFTAs, including the public-voted EE Player’s Choice Award.
It also came out on top in the Best Game, Best Music and Best Narrative categories, with Andrew Wincott picking up an award in the Supporting Role category for his portrayal of antagonist Rapheal.

In an acceptance speech, Wincott called the character “the devil we love to hate, or hate to love” and called the role a “gift”.
“It’s been really humbling how inspired fans have been by this game. Please, keep being creative. Keep creating these worlds and maybe one day we’ll learn to protect the one we’re in,” he added.
Elsewhere in the ceremony, Alan Wake 2 won two BAFTAs for Artistic Achievement and Audio Achievement while Super Mario Bros. Wonder picked up trophies in the Best Family and Best Multiplayer categories.

Ahead of the ceremony, BAFTA held a survey that found that Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft was the most iconic video game character of all time, beating out Mario, Sonic and Pac-Man.
Last month, Larian CEO Swen Vinke revealed the studio had been working on an expansion for Baldur’s Gate 3 as well as a sequel before cancelling both projects.
In other news, Bethesda has confirmed a number of free updates are coming to Fallout 4 following the successful launch of Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of the franchise.
