Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke were set to wed in Mexico in November. And now that they’ve split, their wedding guests have been forced to eat the money they spent to attend the event.

On the heels of the Summer House couple’s breakup, which happened at the end of last month, an insider revealed that those who were planning to be at the wedding will not be getting their money back as the Real Housewives of Potomac star Ashley Darby, 35, spoke out about the end of Lindsay and Carl’s engagement, noting that they were “smitten” just days prior.

“They were so in love — and they were in love up until like last week or something,” Ashley told Page Six’s Evan Real and Danny Murphy at a live taping of the September 7 episode of Virtual Reali-Tea.

According to Ashley, she hasn’t even accepted the news as fact.

“I don’t believe it. Having been around them, I realized firsthand how smitten he was with her. It was real. That’s why I’m like, ‘I gotta see some proof,’” she explained, adding that “something really paramount must have happened.”

Meanwhile, Southern Charm‘s Venita Aspen, 29, was equally as shocked.

“There is no way they’re actually not engaged anymore,” she stated. “Did you see the ring? He’s not getting that money back — or the ring!”

Although both Lindsay and Carl have remained silent since their breakup news was shared, they allegedly filmed the split for the cameras of Summer House. Still, many have doubted the authenticity of the split because no one close to them could have predicted it.

“Only producers knew this was coming, very few of the guests were informed before the news broke,” a source told Us Weekly on September 6.

According to the report, those who planned to attend Lindsay and Carl’s wedding cannot cancel their reservations for Mexico because the deadline to do so has already passed.

“The deadline to cancel their rooms and receive a refund [is over], so many guests were left to eat the costs,” the insider stated.

Meanwhile, another source who spoke to the outlet said that Lindsay remains “broken up” about her and Carl’s split and is “not in a great place.”

“This has been very rough … Lindsay was 100 percent blindsided by the engagement being called off, but it was a long time coming for Carl,” the insider shared. “He wasn’t in this relationship emotionally for a while.”

Summer House season eight is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
