Andy Cohen revealed what he wishes they would have covered at the Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 reunion, and addressed the allegation that he’s biased toward certain castmates. The WWHL host also said he was “sidetracked” by the accusations that Luis Ruelas hired a private investigator against his costars.
Many viewers were offended by how Andy treated Luis’ wife Teresa Giudice at the reunion, and at one point, he even yelled at her. These fans claim Andy was essentially taking the side of Margaret Josephs, Melissa Gorga, and Joe Gorga – who were questioned less about their own actions throughout the season.
In an interview for Pop Culture, shared in a clip by @allrhonjfacts on Instagram, Andy addressed the allegation that he’s biased toward certain Housewives on RHONJ.
The host shared there were “a couple” things that they “didn’t cover” at the reunion, though he “wish[es]” they “had,” as this would have “satisfied” the people who say he’s taking sides.
“We got so sidetracked with the whole thing about whether Luis hired a private investigator and all this stuff, there was such a side conversation that we wound up skipping through,” said Andy, who specifically mentioned Joe and Melissa’s shady tweets before Teresa’s wedding – which was hardly addressed at all.
Andy expressed his belief that if he’d questioned Joe and Melissa about this, viewers might have felt “like it was a little more balanced.”
Some fans, however, were unconvinced by Andy’s statements.
“If Luis had pulled a Joe Gorga at Bravocon and screamed at one of the women, repetitively calling her a bunch of disgusting names while one of his male friends pursued her down a hallway, they would not have gotten ‘sidetracked,’” wrote one user in the comments. “They would’ve talked about it for hours.”
Another fan expressed, “Who cares about hiring a private investigator or not. Margaret spends all her time digging crap on everyone. What in the world is the difference? … I’m not buying Andy. Bravo is trying to do damage control by controlling the content in addition to editing [because] they think just maybe they can salvage the cast.”
