Andy Cohen set the record straight about Jen Shah skipping the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season three reunion and pulling out of their scheduled one-on-one interview while appearing on a podcast last Thursday.
As he admitted that Jen’s explanation for refusing to sit down with him wasn’t “really true,” the Watch What Happens Live host shared his thoughts on Lisa Rinna potentially returning to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards, and Kathy Hilton‘s family drama, and his feuds with Howard Stern and Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
“It’s interesting,” Andy said of his tension with Howard on the May 18 episode of Chicks in the Office.
During a 2020 appearance on PEOPLE’s Reality Check, Andy said Howard thinks he’s “too big” for WWHL and claimed he also turned down an appearance on his radio show. But now, years later, Andy confirmed “new developments.”
“I was in Miami helping Sirius open new studios there, and I had Jon Bon Jovi on my show. Howard was also there, and Howard brought Jon Bon Jovi into his studio while I was live on the air waiting on Jon Bon Jovi,” Andy recalled. “And I got pissed about it.”
Although Andy wasn’t happy about the interference, he said Howard called and apologized that night.
“[He] was like ‘I feel bad’ and all this stuff, and I feel okay talking about it because he talked about it on his show, but I feel like we’re good,” Andy shared.
As for his drama with Snooki, who shaded him after he suggested she wasn’t right for The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Andy explained that he had offhandedly said he “couldn’t see her on [RHONJ].”
“It seems like two different shows… It just becomes a war of words,” he noted.
In addition to discussing the family drama of RHONJ, Andy commented on Kyle and Kathy’s face-off at the RHOBH reunion.
“I was sitting there at the reunion, and Kyle and Kathy were in such disarray, and Rinna was there just shooting daggers at Kathy, the two of them going at each other, and I remember [Garcelle Beauvais] looking at me like, ‘What is going right now? This is too upsetting for words.’ And it was,” he admitted.
That said, he would like to see Lisa return to the show.
“I hope so. I think she says she’s done, and I totally respect that, and I would love in a couple of years to… I’m a big soap opera friend, so I always love it when favorite characters from the past [return],” he confirmed.
While Andy hoped to sit down with Jen after she pleaded guilty to fraud and received a 6.5-year prison sentence in 2022, the RHOSLC star announced on Instagram that she would not be participating in the interview due to Bravo’s refusal to “remove contractual provisions” that would allow them to “legally make misrepresentations” of her story.
“She released a statement that was not really true about what our negotiations were,” Andy said in response. “What she wanted was, I believe, for us to do a series. She wouldn’t do the interview unless we did a series leading up to her going to jail and following her, which we kinda felt like we had seen.
“Also, what I wanted was answers,” he continued. “She had lied to me. She had lied to all of her friends. She had lied to everyone. So I wanted to talk to her about what really happened, and she didn’t want to.”
“Maybe Howie Mandel would’ve given her a more safe space,” he added, signaling to Tom Sandoval‘s “random” post-affair interview with the comedian.
