Activision has clarified that the size of the upcoming Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 won’t be as excessively large as previously advertised.

Black Ops 6 was officially announced last month, with more details revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase over the weekend.

Following the reveal, a listing for Black Ops 6 went live on the Xbox store but fans were worried about the 309GB size of the latest Call Of Duty title.

“This is so egregiously ridiculous that I thought it was a joke. You need to fix this,” wrote one fan on social media. “I don’t give a fuck if Black Pps 6 is free day 1 on Game Pass. I am not installing a 309GB game. That’s absolutely insane,” added another.

However, in a new statement Activision has said not everyone will need to download all 309GB.

“Correction: The estimated file size currently displayed on the Black Ops 6 pre-order pages does not represent the download size or disk footprint for Black Ops 6,” the studio wrote on social media. The 309GB version of the game would include full installations of Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Warzone and all relevant content packs, including all localised languages combined, which is “not representative of a typical player install experience,” according to Activision.

“Players will be able to download Black Ops 6 at launch without downloading any other Call Of Duty titles or all of the language packs,” they added.  However,  the actual size of Black Ops 6 will be revealed closer to launch.

Black Ops 6 will be a day one release on Xbox Game Pass when it launches this October.

In other news, Ubisoft has confirmed that the remake of Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time is now aiming for a 2026 release. The studio also blamed countless delays on other remakes “redefining the bar”.
