Fans of Sydney Sweeney have been celebrating her 27th birthday today (September 12), and reflecting on her achievements in TV and cinema so far.

In the last year, the star has already appeared in four films including Anyone But You and the Ron Howard-directed Eden – which recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

She also made her debut on Saturday Night Live and is currently getting ready to return to filming for the third season of Euphoria.

Check out some of the celebrations of all things Sweeney here, including some interesting facts and her opening monologue on SNL:

In July, it was announced that the highly anticipated third season of HBO‘s hit show Euphoria was set to begin filming in January 2025.

Speaking about going back to filming for the series, Sweeney recently said: “I’m very excited to jump back into Cassie. She is definitely one of the most special characters for me and I love my Euphoria family, so I look forward to it.”

She added: “I love crazy Cassie, so the crazier, the better for me”. Sweeney also confirmed that she “honestly” doesn’t know “anything” about what will happen in the show’s third season.

Season three will notably have a big task ahead of it, as in between the three-year gap between shoots, actor Angus Cloud (who played Fez) died from an accidental overdose last year.

The new season beginning production in early 2025 means that at the earliest, the show could premiere in late 2025, though a 2026 release seems more likely.

In NME’s five-star review of Euphoria season two, Rhian Daly wrote that it “somehow ratchets up the misery even further, bringing nearly all of its major players deeper into its web of suffering”.
