Sticking to the status quo is boring. Although routine has its place in mastering oneself, spontaneity is a worthy trait. These past weeks, the Naija celebrity fashion scene was alight with daring fits–an intentional veering off with neatly curated ensembles drenched in unpredictability. For example, the stars known for their usual minimal indulgence embarked on an unusual color adventure. A few stuck to the familiar, but didn’t hesitate to attempt conspicuousness. Simply put, they came bold and ready.
The hues were particularly interesting. From exploring new shades to stretching the versatility of combinations, Nigerian style stars were far from business as usual. The legs were mostly out, either through outright mini pieces or high-slit ensembles. Cut-outs also took center stage, with no attempt at soft-pedaling–from bold cut-out pieces to subtle sexy cuts. In all, the looks were mostly all-season choices, enough to have them pinned on any style girl’s mood board.
Check out the chic Naija celebrity fashion takes that were spotted recently…
#1. Tomike Adeoye
Birthday girl Tomike Adeoye was on a leather, sheer, and color-splash spree for her birthday shoot. She wore a high-low hem leather top, with a padded shoulder and cut-out on the chest, styled with a high-waisted sheer maxi skirt in turquoise. The merging of leather and sheer was an appealing take on moto magic and femme wonder. Styling blue and red can be a tricky affair–you either look like a full-blown clown or a fashion adventurer who knows her onions. The latter was the case for Tomike as both hues partnered with each other, without one subduing the other.
