With A Quiet Place: Day One hitting cinemas, Stormind Games has given fans an update about video game spin-off The Road Ahead.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead was first announced back in 2021, with plans for it to release the following year but developers Stormind Games went quiet soon after. However, last month the studio re-introduced the game to players and confirmed it would be released for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 later this year.

Now the studio has shared its first story trailer for the survival horror game – check it out below.

According to the description, players will take control of Alex – “an asthmatic college student trying to survive the end of the world with her boyfriend Martin” – in this original story. The Road Ahead starts with day one of the alien invasion, with the majority of the game taking place 100 days later.

As the trailer shows, players will have to contend with the noise-activated hunters, car chases, shotgun battles and a looming pregnancy.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a single-player horror adventure game inspired by the critically acclaimed blockbuster movie franchise that highlights a unique survivor story after an invasion of deadly creatures,” reads the Steam description.

“In this exclusive spin-off, experience the journey of a young woman who must endure a treacherous apocalypse in the midst of interpersonal family conflicts, all while coming to terms with her own inner fears.”

The Road Ahead follows on from the original A Quiet Place film, the brilliant 2021 sequel and the recent spin-off prequel, Day One.

In other news, a majority of Xbox players were affected by a “major outage” with the gaming platform’s servers last night (July 2).
