It has been confirmed that the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba anime will conclude with a film trilogy.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba first aired in 2019, and has gone on to become a global smash via feature films and TV series. Season four Hashira Training Arc concluded today (July 1) and now the future of the saga has been confirmed.
According to distributors Crunchyroll, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle will air exclusively in cinemas as a trilogy of films.
This three-part cinematic event will showcase the final arc and conclusion of the series, with the trio of films distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment worldwide, excluding select Asian territories including Japan. No air date has been confirmed yet though.

“Demon Slayer has been a phenomenal franchise, and we at Crunchyroll are delighted to have been a part of it from the beginning,” said Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll. “Crunchyroll is thrilled to be able to bring this trilogy of films to fans, on the big screen, and it promises to be one of the truly epic and consequential pop cultural events of our time when it hits cinemas.”
Demon Slayer is based on the manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge, published under Shueisha’s Jump Comics imprint. The entire series consists of 23 volumes and to date has sold over 150 million copies. The 2020 feature film Mugen Train made over $450million at the box office, becoming the highest grossing Japanese film of all time.
Speaking to NME recently, voice actor Natsuki Hanae said the success of the ultra-violent anime was down to its universal themes. Family, the bonds between siblings… People everywhere can relate,” he said. “I think that must be what’s vibrating through the whole world.”
