Konami has confirmed that music featured across the Metal Gear Solid franchise will be coming to vinyl.

‘Metal Gear Solid: The Vinyl Collection’ is due for release October 2024, and will feature  soundtrack music and official arrangements from across the series.

Konami has teamed up with Laced Records for the release, who have previously released vinyl editions of soundtracks from the likes of Resident Evil 3, Tekken 8 and Runescape.

A 53-track, 6LP collection will feature choice cuts from across the Metal Gear Solid series, from the 1998 original to 2015’s Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. The collection will also include original cues, medleys and official arrangements created for the 20th and 25th anniversary Metal Gear Music Collection release.

A specially curated sixth disc of the box set will feature one side called ‘Solid Sneaking’, which is dedicated to “stealthy cues” from across the series’ history while the ‘Vs. Boss’ side will celebrate boss battle cues. A press release teases a “cheeky ape-related bonus” to finish.

An 18-track double vinyl will also be released, featuring fan-favourite tracks like ‘Snake Eater’ and ‘The Best is Yet to Come’.

All music has been specially remastered for the collection, while the vinyl will also come with archival artwork chosen from the series’ “iconic, expressionistic illustrations”.

Pre-orders for the collections are now live, with the 6LP collection costing £110 while the standard version is available for £36.
