Sega has confirmed it will be bringing Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance to Download Festival 2024.
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance is the “definitive”, expanded version of the 2021 game and is due to be released June 14 on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
To celebrate the launch, Sega and developers ATLUS will be heading to Download Festival to bring a themed “immersive experience” to the rock and metal festival. According to a press release, this will “feature eight gaming stations, with audiences able to fight demons ahead of seeing their favourite bands.”

Speaking about the partnership, festival boss Andy Copping said: “We are so excited to see SEGA bring Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance to Download Festival, creating a unique experience for our festival goers. Music and games have a long history of working together and their fan bases are frequently overlapping, so it feels like a natural fit. We can’t wait to see you at the gameplay stations!”
Originally launched as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Shin Megami Tensei 5 went on to sell over a million copies. This new edition “massively expands” on the original “with a brand-new storyline featuring new locations, demons, and choices to make that will dictate the fate of all existence.”
Last year, Download Festival hosted a special Bring Me The Horizon interactive experience to tease their upcoming album ‘POST HUMAN: NeX GEn’.
Download Festival 2024 is set to take place June 14-16 and will be headlined by Queens Of The Stone Age, Avenged Sevenfold and Fall Out Boy. Royal Blood, The Offspring, Machine Head, Pantera, Bad Omens, Corey Taylor, While She Sleeps, Sum 41, Billy Talent, The Used and Babymetal are also set to play. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
In other news, Hades 2 launched in Early Access earlier this week (May 6) and the roguelike dungeon crawler has quickly become a hit.
