This year’s Met Gala will hardly be the first for Jennifer Lopez. It will, however, be the first time she’s served as one of the night’s co-chairs, an honor she’s sharing with Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, and Anna Wintour. Since her debut Costume Institute red carpet in 2004—the original Ben Affleck years—while wearing Dolce & Gabbana, Lopez has been a consistently glamorous and extravagant presence during the first Monday in May.

She’s donned everything from a cheetah-print Michael Kors dress and a slicked-back updo at the 2013 “Punk” gala to a beaded Versace gown that left very little to be curious about just two years later. Lopez has also indulged in more demure moments on the Met steps, like in 2010 when she wore a princess Zuhair Murad gown and 2017’s Valentino look which was a surprisingly tame interpretation of the “Camp” dress code.

All that to say, Lopez’s unique brand of Met Gala fashion is hard to metch—but if anyone can do it, surely it’s the woman who isn’t afraid to get a little “loud.” As we wait to see what the hitmaker has up her sleeve for this year’s theme, “Sleeping: Reawakening Fashion,” glance through all of Jennifer Lopez’s Met Gala red carpet looks, below.
