Quiet, please. Fresh off the success of her Dune: Part Two press tour, Zendaya is back on the move to promote her tennis flick, Challengers. Given that Zendaya’s playing a savvy tennis professional in the film the actress and her stylist Law Roach have taken a very different approach when compared to her sci-fi-tinged Dune fashion.
So far, there’s been plenty of sequins, thigh-high slits, and some very on-theme tennis references. The actress has channeled several aspects of the historic sport—from Wimbledon’s iconic green to tennis whites—as well as athleisure details like ribbed underwear, polo shirts, and striped boxer briefs.
As Zendaya and her Challengers co-stars, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, traverse the globe see all of the actress’ press tour looks, below.
Alaïa
Who said tennis whites couldn’t be high fashion? Zendaya looked like runway perfection in a custom Alaïa look that she paired with almond-toe heels.
On Running
There’s nothing like some Wimbledon whites. The actress slipped into a custom On Running jumpsuit, complete with a sporty bodice and side slits, while out and about in New York City.
Longchamp
The actress tapped into her sporty side with this Longchamp tennis skirt and cropped sweater.
Erdem
For an appearance on Good Morning America, Zendaya looked like a ’50s vision in a summery Erdem gown.
Thierry Mugler
Zendaya treated her signature archival fashion to a sporty twist with this vintage tennis ball yellow set from Thierry Mugler.
Loewe
The actress went with a more casual look during her stay in New York City. She accented her look with a Loewe “I Told Ya” t-shirt that not only is worn by her character in the movie but is also available for purchase.
Jacquemus
During a press event in Los Angeles, the actress updated the Coquette trend with a sporty finish. Her blush pink Jacquemus look went all in on traditional coquette finishes, like bow details and a matching headband, but also featured an athletic, ab-baring polo shirt that flowed into her princess skirt. Coordinating bow heels and a retro blowout proved to be the perfect finish.
Ralph Lauren
A no pants moment in vintage Ralph Lauren during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Vera Wang
The actress hit pause on her athleisure style to indulge in a bit of lingerie dressing on the red carpet. Zendaya sported a Vera Wang boudoir moment during the Los Angeles premiere of Challengers.
Celia Kritharioti
Zendaya was hard to miss in this neon, tennis ball yellow confection from Greek designer Celia Kritharioti. Her dress, which she sported for an after party in Los Angeles, featured a low-cut neckline and a steep center slit.
16Arlington
The actress doubled down on her affinity for tennis whites by appearing on the Italian TV Show Che Tempo Che Fa in a custom look from the London brand 16Arlington.
Ralph Lauren
Some tennis whites and a fashion history lesson all sprinkled in one look. Zendaya sported a retro mini dress from Ralph Lauren’s spring 1992 collection (originally modeled by Cindy Crawford) for a photo call in Milan, Italy.
On Running
Zendaya paid homage to Althea Gibson—the first Black woman to win a Grand Slam tennis tournament—during press in Monaco. She slipped into a matching outfit from On Running which referenced Gibson’s signature tennis whites.
Brunello Cucinelli
Backdropped by the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters tournament, Zendaya indulged in a bit of Quiet Luxury for a photo call in Monaco. She looked chic in a ribbed long sleeve and a maxi skirt from Brunello Cucinelli.
Vivienne Westwood
There’s perhaps no better brand to sport in London than Vivienne Westwood. During a photo call in the British city, Zendaya pulled out a vintage Westwood number—composed of a plunging vest and matching bustle skirt—from the brand’s spring 1994 collection. Carrie Bradshaw wore a similar version of the actress’s skirt during a season four episode of Sex and the City.
Loro Piana
For a more casual moment while in London, Zendaya slipped into a cream Loro Piana set that her stylist Law Roach aptly labeled “Morning quiet luxury.”
Thom Browne
Another tenniscore ace, with a bit of coquette sprinkled in. For the Challengers London premiere, Zendaya accented a backless Thom Browne dress with a matching hair bow and an extra-long braid.
Calvin Klein
The actress looked statuesque at the Rome premiere of Challengers. She went sans shirt in a custom Calvin Klein power suit that she topped off with a blinding lariat from Bulgari.
Rahul Mishra
Zendaya went bold during press in Rome. She sported a neon crop top and matching parachute pants from Rahul Mishra. Even with her more casual looks, Zendaya knows how to serve up something memorable.
Loewe
Zendaya touched down in Rome with her most on-theme reference yet. For a photo call in the historic Italian city, the actress slipped into a plunging Loewe mini that was a high fashion twist on the classic tennis dress. Her sleeveless look was designed with a pleated mini skirt and glittery, iridescent fabric. In addition to her dress, Loewe designer Jonathan Anderson continued his sporty fun with a pair of custom white pumps that featured tennis balls as heels. Game, set, Zendaya.
Louis Vuitton
The pièce de résistance for Zendaya’s Challengers Paris premiere? Custom Louis Vuitton, of course. The actress looked ethereal for the film’s debut, wearing a strapless goddess gown that designer Nicolas Ghesquière accented with a leather waist belt and sheer skirt. Sparkly Bulgari jewels and a sweeping, simple hairstyle proved to be the perfect finishing touch.
Louis Vuitton
Zendaya stayed on theme during a Paris photo call in a matching green set from Louis Vuitton’s spring 1999 collection (which also happened to be one of Marc Jacobs’ first runway shows for the brand). The actress and her stylist Law Roach completed the look, sourced from Paris-based Moji Farhat Vintage, with silver disco pumps and a Jacobs-designed purse.
Louis Vuitton
Another Parisian press moment, even more vintage Louis Vuitton. Zendaya held court in a ladylike confection, from Marc Jacobs’ spring 2013 collection for the luxury house, that featured a green and white damier check print and a ’60s silhouette. The actress paired her look with white stilettos and a matching headband.
Lacoste
For press rounds in Sydney, Australia, Zendaya and Roach tapped Lacoste’s new creative director Pelagia Kolotouros to create this sheer, all-white moment. The look consisted of high-waisted briefs, a matching tank top, and a blinged-out sheer skirt. Lacoste, of course, has outfitted many legendary tennis players on the court—from Venus Williams to Novak Djokovic and brand founder René Lacoste.
Elisabetta Franchi, Louboutin, Bulgari
During her stay in Australia, the actress took a breather from her form-fitting gowns to slip into a more casual look courtesy of Elisabetta Franchi. The actress dressed up a pair of the brand’s striped boxer shorts with a matching button down, Bulgari jewels, and white Louboutin pumps.
Loewe
Zendaya kicked off her Challengers press tour with a clean ace (and a new ‘do). The star slipped into a custom Loewe look for the film’s Australian premiere. The glittery gown featured a daring slit and an outline of a tennis player preparing to serve. Loewe designer Jonathan Anderson created the film’s costumes, so it’s fitting that Zendaya sported the Spanish brand for her debut look.
