erenity isn’t often the theme but last week, the stars had to soft-pedal on major red-carpet events to recuperate. This didn’t impede all activities as celebrities still found events to attend in colorful getups. The Urban One Honors was one such occasion that smoked out fashionistas last week, each making a case for elegance in a way they saw fit.
The Looks
Tika Sumpter was on pink overload during her press rounds for The Underdog Movie, scheduled for release on January 26th. She was a sight in a Harbison Studio skirt suit paired with a sheer button-down shirt and Casadei metallic pumps, resulting in an easy-on-the-eye offering. Complemented by a flipped hairstyle and golden hoop earrings, this look was a perfect take on the Barbicore trend.
Former Destiny Child singer Letoya Luckett hosted the Urban One Honors red carpet looking elegant in a Toni Maticevski high slit number. She styled this soft-hued dress with edgy thigh-high boots and gloves, serving 80s Madonna with a subtle lean toward Old Hollywood. Her blonde pixie and diamond jewelry further accentuated the coordination.
Chloe Bailey gracefully sported an Onalaja embellished jumpsuit at the Jimmy Fallon live show. She wore this snappy fit to perform “Sweet Like Honey,” and indeed we can say the same about her looks. The bold belt, chunky bangles, and locs punched up the look uniquely.
