The tentative schedule for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Fall/Winter 2024 has been recently unveiled by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The event is scheduled to take place from February 9 to 14, featuring a diverse lineup of over 70 designers showcasing their work through physical runway shows, digital presentations, and by-appointment showcases.
The opening act on February 9 will be presented by Peter Do who will be revealing his second collection for Helmut Lang. Closing the NYFW schedule on February 14th is CFDA chairman Thom Browne, promising a grand finale to the week.
Returning designers include Carolina Herrera, Coach, Collina Strada, Eckhaus Latta, Elena Velez, Khaite, LaQuan Smith, Michael Kors, Jason Wu, Jonathan Cohen, and Proenza Schouler, among others. The event is highly anticipated due to the return of Gabriela Hearst, presenting her first collection since departing from Chloé in September 2023. Monse, Lafayette 148, Delpozo, and Libertine are also making a comeback to the NYFW schedule.
Additionally, the schedule features the debuts of promising talents like Bishme Cromartie, Callas, Colleen Allen, Jane Wade, and Meruert Tolegen. Emerging designers such as Diotima and Zankov, runners-up in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, along with finalists Kim Shui and Tanner Fletcher, will showcase their collections. The winner of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, Melitta Baumeister, will debut digitally.
A notable highlight is Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s highly anticipated global debut on February 11th, presenting his first runway show outside of Paris in New York City under his brand.
Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, emphasized the unique strengths of New York Fashion Week, stating, “For the upcoming season, we continue to build on New York Fashion Week’s unique strengths, from new and emerging designers to established and international brands and diverse voices who are defining global fashion creativity.”
