The Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, announced that the entity has once again set a record in the tourism industry with 33.7 million passengers.

“We have surpassed the record with 33.7 million passengers. In addition, the 12 destinations received more than 21 million tourists, an increase of 8% compared to 2022,” she said.

Also in 2022, tourism reached more than 21 billion dollars, which represents an increase of 12 percent, according to the governor.

“Quintana Roo is undoubtedly at its best. Thanks to all those who make these figures possible. The transformation is progressing with shared prosperity, social justice, and development,” she stated.

According to the Quintana Roo Tourism Secretariat, the ports received more than 6.1 million visitors in 2023, boosting both the economy and the tourism sector.

“The tourist diversity of our 12 destinations sets us apart, not only in Mexico but around the world,” said Tourism Secretary Bernardo Cueto. “From paradisiacal beaches to cultural legacy, each place offers an unforgettable experience, and Quintana Roo is experiencing its best moment.”
