Track is an “ode to the feelers out there who hold the strength, tenacity, and heart to imagine, pray, and fight for a better world to leave for our children”

Lauren Jauregui is lending her voice to a timely cause. On Friday, the singer released ballad “The Day the World Blows Up” to support the children of Palestine amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.

“I wrote this song on November 6th but I feel like it has tried to write itself many times before,” the singer shared on X. “It encompasses the underlying energy I’ve been feeling for a while now about this world. My heart has been in a state of perpetual heartbreak and music, as always, is the only thing that makes it make sense.”

“Even still in the midst of this chaos I feel a hope in us finding each other and remembering what we truly are,” Jauregui added.

The track is available on Even.biz with a “pay what you want” model with a recommended payment of $3. Jauregui says that a portion of profits will go to the Middle East Children’s Alliance to support Palestinian children, along with Food Against Hunger’s fund to support Sudanese families in Egypt amid the healthcare crisis in the country.

“This song is an ode to the feelers out there who hold the strength, tenacity, and heart to imagine, pray, and fight for a better world to leave for our children in the midst of chaos,” Jauregui said about the song. “They are all ours. May we never stop dreaming of freedom until it is truly for us all.”

The In Between singer has been vocal in her support of a ceasefire in Gaza, sharing anti-violence messaging across her social media. She also hosted an Instagram Live with presidential candidate Marianne Williamson last week.
