The 2023-2024 awards season is officially off to the races, and we are back with our Awards Leaderboard because we live for all the season’s drama. We will be here after every major contest to recap every win all the way up until Oscar night. Also, check our Award Tours hub for more interviews, winners lists, and event recaps from critics groups, guilds, and industry honors.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer tops our list as we head into the holiday break and in a trend that is likely to remain unchanged for the rest of the season as the British director’s epic take on the man behind the atomic bomb has dominated the crafts categories; with multiple wins for Editing, Cinematography, Score, and more than a few Actor prizes for star Cillian Murphy. Be sure to check out our interview with the film’s composer, Ludwig Göransson, on our newly launched Awards Tour Podcast.

Though there is still much to be decided, Nolan’s dominant performance in the Directing categories thus far is also noteworthy, marking him the clear front-runner. Perhaps the most surprising entry in the top five is Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers, with an impressive run of wins from Supporting Actress contender Da’vine Joy Randall – most are calling this contest all but decided.

We will likely have a very different list when we update again, but the season has begun, and we are more than ready to dive in. Which one of these wins will matter in the long run? Like our leaderboard, it is all still very much up in the air, but we will be here each week to keep you updated. So bookmark this page to stay in the know on which films take home the most prizes.
