The older the Steam Deck gets, the more accessories and specialized modifications for it pop up, like these resin buttons you can install to replace the stock ones that come on the unit. Spotted by The Verge, Deckbuttons.com lets you order a set of custom-made resin buttons for your Steam Deck unit to give an extra layer of personalized design. Not too unlike Steam Deck shells and other parts you can find around the web to make your handheld unique.

To grab a set of these you’ll need to cough up about $40. That gets you replacements for the ABXY buttons, start, select, the d-pad, and the menu and three dot buttons. They come in a range of colors and the texture is designed to match the texture of the stock Steam Deck shell. Which is pretty sweet if you enjoy little details like that.

Steam Deck resin buttons seem to be limited

Steam Deck Resin Buttons Limited Edition Holographic

If these seem like a thing you might want for your own Steam Deck, you will probably want to buy them while you can. Many of the available color options are already sold out. Including the limited-edition holographic set that was on sale for $49.99 (pictured above). Speaking of sales, all of the remaining sets are on sale for the $40 price listed above.

But your color choices are limited to the Atomic Purple, Neon Pink, and Neon Yellow. The other five options are sold out. And it’s not clear if more will be made. However, The Verge does mention that the creator, Greg Leddy, has scaled for other Steam Deck accessories he’s made before. Which means it’s entirely possible that he could do the same thing with these buttons.

Still, we wouldn’t recommend banking on that if you like them. You’re much better off trying to score a pair now, if possible, while there’s still some to be had. Sure the best colors are gone. But all of the colors look neat. Keep in mind that if you plan to buy these, you need to know how to open up your Steam Deck unit and install these. Leddy offers an install guide on the Deck Buttons website. But you also need to be comfortable with going through the process and should know what you’re doing. As such, choosing to install these is something you do at your own risk.
