Baldur’s Gate 3 is poised to get “1,000+ fixes and tweaks” in its upcoming first patch. That’s according to Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke (via VGC), who mentioned the fixes in an X post on the morning of August 15.

Vincke doesn’t mention a specific date for the first patch, but does note that everyone at Larian is “very enthused” by the feedback that players have given on Baldur’s Gate 3. The game, which officially launched out of early access for PC on August 3, has been enjoying some great success in the weeks that followed. Though everyone is loving the game for different reasons, one constant that seems to be present in most opinions about the game is that it’s fun and very polished in many areas.

That doesn’t mean it’s without its flaws though. Clearly there are some bugs in the game that required attention from Larian. And the studio plans to iron as many of those out as it can. The studio has already started the process too, by issuing multiple hotfixes over the last couple of weeks. It’s even got another hotfix coming before the first patch. Though again, Vincke doesn’t mention any dates. Vincke also doesn’t mention specifically what fixes the patch will include. Although, there will surely be patch notes that explain that after the patch goes live.

The first patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 is all about fixing reported issues

Even though players are loving the game, there’s no shortage of them making requests for changes or features. Vincke says the studio is listening to suggestions. However, players shouldn’t expect the upcoming patch to include any of those suggestions.

According to Vincke the studio’s current focus is fixing reported issues. And that’s a good thing because it’s more concerned with smoothing out problems that players come up against. As opposed to adding new stuff into the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on Steam for PC players and it comes to PS5 on September 6. Just one day after Starfield launches for PC.
