Twitter Blue subscribers can now download the uploaded videos to the platform. Of course, there are some restrictions that prevent these users from downloading older videos.

Twitter is increasing its perks for Blue subscribers to entice more users to pay for a monthly subscription. After allowing Blue users to have a verified badge and upload up to two-hour-long videos, the platform will now enable them to download videos. According to the latest change made to the Help Center, verified users can download videos from certain tweets for offline use.

The feature is available to verified users as of the 25th of July, 2023. However, every video uploaded before this date is not downloadable for Blue subscribers. Additionally, any user who does not want videos to be downloadable can disable them. This can be done by clicking the “Allow video to be downloaded” option on the video while composing the Tweet.

A better option for distracted users could be a toggle in the settings page to make all videos unavailable for download. Of course, if your Twitter Blue account is private, only your followers will be able to see the videos.

Another restriction is for users under 18. Twitter says if the account owner is under 18, the video download setting is automatically set to OFF and cannot be changed. This restriction is applied to users whose account setting notifies Twitter they’re under 18.

To download a video on Twitter, you first need to tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner. Then, tap Download video.

Before Elon Musk took over, Twitter was known to be a regular social media platform with no innovation. However, Musk aims to make Twitter a hub for both businesses and regular users who want a place to share their inner thoughts. For instance, the platform lets verified organizations post up to five job listings on their profiles and hire potential candidates.

Another great addition to Twitter after Musk’s takeover is ad revenue sharing. But only with verified creators who pay $8 a month. The platform might make more features Blue-exclusive to get more subscribers.
