Trends are set for a reason. They help people streamline their clothing options for each season and pave the way for ease of dressing. However, it’s never compulsory to follow them as was evident last week with the dandiest men. Noticeably, the best-dressed celebrities deviated from mainstream summer dress code and instead fanned the flames of their individual styles.
The Looks
Last week was the Hungary Grand Prix and ahead of the big event, Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton arrived for the media day styling a Dior Spring/Summer 2024 navy blue set and a pair of sneakers of the same brand. For accessories, the champ added finishing touches to the fit with a pair of Kimeze sunglasses and an IWC pilots Lake Tahoe edition watch. It was a perfect opening-day ensemble fit for a style icon.
The Shawn Carter Foundation gala provided its fair share of celebrity sightings this past week. Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter attended the eponymous black tie event in a Tom Ford Atticus tuxedo with satin details. For shoes, the billionaire complemented the look with a pair of Tom Ford patent leather lace-up evening shoes. The entrepreneur is nothing if not appropriately clad.
While many went the over-the-top route to impress, it was some of the quieter moments that proved to be the most elegant. Take New York Giants player Xavier Mckinney’s look for example. The American football safety wore an all-black get-up consisting of a Prada shirt matched with a pair of Rick Owens bell-bottom pants. He continued the black streak with Celine platform shoes and accessorized with Prada sunglasses.
