One of 2022’s best games is finally making its way to Xbox, with Stray headed to the platform, as the launch was confirmed by its publisher Annapurna Interactive today.

The publisher held its games showcase to reveal new details about upcoming games and an Xbox launch of STRAY was among the announcements. When the game initially released back in 2022, it was only available for PC and PS4/PS5. The game follows a lost stray cat who gets separated from its family. You of course control the cat, and get to embark on a pretty surreal journey across a large city in a post-apocalyptic world where humans are all but long forgotten.

It’s a really neat and quite relaxing gameplay experience with some gorgeous visuals. And it’s definitely worth experiencing if you get the chance. Especially since the game is only normally $30. And if you’d rather play it on Steam, it’s currently on sale for 25% off.

STRAY will launch on Xbox on August 10

There’s still a bit of a wait for Xbox players to dive in. But let this wait serve as a means for hyping up the release. And if you’re skeptical, because how could a game about a cat be fun, trust us. It’s an excellent game and chances are you’ll enjoy it.

It’ll be available official on August 10 for Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One owners. There’s no mention from Annapurna about it coming to Xbox Game Pass, though. If you want to play it, you’ll probably have to buy it. If it doesn’t make it to Game Pass, that’ll be an interesting choice. Seeing as the game is available to PlayStation owners via the PS Plus Catalog that you get with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions.

Either way, it’s a game you shouldn’t skip. Cat lovers most of all.
