HoYoverse has released details on the latest upcoming patch for Genshin Impact, which brings to the game to version 3.8, set to release for players next month.

The new patch will contain loads of new content for players to dive into, including new events and new wish events. As always, new wish events will contain chances to acquire new playable characters. However, there won’t be any new characters added to the game this patch it seems. Players can still of course acquire new characters they don’t already own. As the wish events will cycle in characters that aren’t currently being offered.

The patch is due out for players on July 5 for all platforms. Which includes Android, iOS, PS4, PS5, and PC. As for new content, one of the main additions will be a new limited-time map with Summer attractions. The area is called Veluriyam Mirage and will house four special events players can participate in. Such as a water cannon shooting game and additional combat challenges. There’s even a chance to gain Layla as a free character recruit. So you may want to participate in the events if you don’t already have her in your roster.

Genshin Impact 3.8 special program gives a peek at the new nation Fontaine

One of the big themes in Genshin Impact is all the different nations. Each of which have a unique design, and play a central role in the evolving story. The next upcoming nation will be Fontaine, which was briefly shown off today.

Because this isn’t a major patch, players won’t get to full dive into Fontaine just yet. However, they can see it at a glance in the screenshots above if they’re curious about how it looks. Alongside today’s new trailer release, HoYoverse held the latest special program livestream event for the game. During this event, 1 minute of footage is shown off that reveals bits and pieces of Fontaine and its “urban and underwater views.” You can already pre-load the new 3.8 content now and it’ll go live on July 5.
