ASUS today officially announced the launch date and pricing of the ROG Ally, and pre-orders for the device right now. The ROG Ally will come in two different models. One with the AMD Ryzen Z1 chip and another with the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme. The latter being the more powerful of the two. It’s also the model that’s up for pre-order today as it launches first.

You can pre-order the device for $699 for the Z1 Extreme model and it will launch on June 13. So the arrival of this new handheld gaming PC is just around the corner. If you’re eyeing the Z1 model, you’ll spend $100 less, but that version doesn’t launch until Q3, and pre-orders for it aren’t live at this time.

ROG Ally pre-orders are exclusive to Best Buy

If you’re interested in picking one of these up for yourself, you can do so starting from today. The device is being sold exclusively through Best Buy in the US. But you’ll be able to pick it up from the ASUS eshop in other regions according to ASUS.

ASUS will also sell accessories for the ROG Ally including an official travel case, and a gaming charger dock with HDMI that allows you to play your games on a bigger screen. Both of these accessories will be sold through Best Buy as well but aren’t yet available. When they do go up for pre-order however, you can grab them for $39.99 and $64.99 respectively.

We’ve been testing the Z1 Extreme model of the ROG Ally for the past few days and so far, it’s been a great experience. We’ll have a full review of the device up later but first impressions are that ASUS has done a pretty good job here. If you want a gaming handheld with powerful performance, the Ally provides it.
