This morning FromSoftware revealed the latest details on its upcoming mech game Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon, including a launch date and a few minutes of gameplay footage.

Armored Core VI was initially announced back on December 8, 2022 as a special review at The Game Awards, but there was no launch date back then. Only a statement that the game was releasing in 2023. FromSoftware has now re-affirmed the game’s 2023 release, and the game is coming sooner than some might have expected. For those new to the Armored Core series, it centers around mech combat. Built on the foundation of a complex build system that allows for a staggeringly high degree of customization.

Armored Core VI will follow this series trend. While also incorporating certain elements from FromSoftware’s other action games. Though the studio has emphasized that it won’t play like a Souls game. Armored Core VI will be a mostly single player experience, and today’s trailer gives you a first look at the combat. Where you’ll battle everything from smaller mechs to giant behemoth-sized machines.

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon will launch on August 25

If you’ve been waiting for this game since its announcement last year, you won’t have to wait too much longer. While it isn’t releasing in the next few weeks, it is coming well before the end of the year. With an official release date set for August 25, no doubt making it one of the most highly anticipated games of this year.

When the game arrives, it’ll be available on multiple platforms. Including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. You can also pre-order the game starting today. There’s even a Collectors Edition and Premium Edition available from the Bandai Namco store. They come at hefty prices though. The Collectors Edition will be $229.99 while the Premium Edition will be $449.99. These are also available for all platforms.
