Samsung has the “Galaxy” moniker, Google has “Pixel”, and Amazon has “Prime”. Amazon branded its video streaming service with this moniker, but that’s about to change, according to Onlytech. The company is in the process of giving Prime Video a name change, and one option is Amazon TV.

The company hasn’t officially announced that it’s changing the name… but, in a way, it actually did. It sent out a survey to a limited number of users, and it asked them what name they’d want the service to change it to.

Prime Video might be changed to Amazon TV

We’re not sure just how many people got the survey, but Onlytech was able to get their hands on it. “Prime Video, the one-stop entertainment destination is getting a new name: Amazon TV.” What the survey was doing was basically asking the customers how they felt about this new name.

Along with the questions, we also saw the possible logo that the company’s going to use. It’s as simple as the Prime Video logo, but Amazon is really big on minimalist logos. For this one, it’s the Amazon logo with “TV” tacked on the end. Plain and simple.

Amazon TV Logo

So, there’s nothing spectacular with the logo. However, there’s a slight chance that the above logo won’t see the light of day. In the survey, the company gave a list of other names that they’re considering. These are Amazon+, Amazon Stream, Amazon Streaming, and Amazon Premiere.

So, while the company did state that the name is being changed to Amazon TV, there’s a chance that it could be one of the other four options. We’re not sure if the survey asked how customers felt about the other names.

Let’s just hope that the company doesn’t settle on Amazon+. We already have Discovery+, Disney+, Paramount+, BET+, ESPN+, TV+, and more. In any case, Amazon is going to change the name, but we don’t expect the company to make any changes to the actual service. We’re not sure when the company is going to implement the name change, so stay tuned.
